1) All the kid’s songs on the website..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For those that may not know, all the kid’s songs
are now on the website. The voting results are
not viewable for them because I didn’t want
anyone to be disappointed if they didn’t have
many votes.
You can enjoy hearing all the kids at –
If God puts one on your heart, please pray for
them and vote too. (One man asked if I could
just give them all first place prizes, each one
was so precious.)
2) How to record inexpensively to a PC…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John Dolson contacted me and offered to write an
article on how to record inexpensively to a PC.
Clever man, he figured out how to outsmart the
free Sound Recorder into recording more than 1
minute. It’s here –

3) Reflections – 2 stories…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes I’ve shared stories from my students
or my thoughts on Scriptures or nature. Thought
I’d pull back the curtain and share 2 stories
from my life.
I know many of you are way too busy and it’s OK
to stop reading and go back to what you were
doing. This email is pretty long.
For those still reading I think there may be
something here that may be a blessing to some.
First Story:
After college I realized to make a career in
music you had to actually work at it. I had
performed for occasional events and enjoyed it.
In a slow summer month I decided to call 30
restaurants and caterers a day to let them know
of my services. I called Mondays through
Fridays and took the weekends off.
Cold calling wasn’t fun and after a month guess
how many jobs I got. If you said none, you were
correct. First 600 calls were 99.5% not
interested and .5% let me send them my info.
The next month started out about the same… but
a few people did call back and I got jobs, then
agents, then bookings almost every weekend.
(I’m leaving out lots of details.)
I think someone needs to hear that ‘no’ doesn’t
always mean no forever and that the Scripture
about the ants does apply to us. Don’t lose
heart or give up.
Second Story:
This has to do with Jon’s song. He shared with
me how the song was written. God wanted every
aspect of his life to be worship.
Well, that got me thinking about my life and it
made me happy to see lots of moments of living
in worship to Him.
OK, now you know I spent a lot of time behind
microphones at events most weekends. It was
mostly providing background music and I just
sat in the corner and worshipped.
Didn’t matter if I was playing classical,
flamenco, renaissance lute or singing folk/pop
songs, it was all worship. If the words were
bad, I just changed them.
At a Christian wedding I was told not to sing
Christian songs for the reception because the
Dad paying for the music was not a believer.
Anyway, on a break an older woman told me that
my music was beautiful. I told her, “It’s the Lord.”
On the next break she came up again and said not
only was my music beautiful, but that I was
beautiful. I said, “It’s the Lord.”
Then she said “How can I know the Lord?” We sat
on a couch and her tenant, who had brought her,
joined us. After sharing and praying together
she asked him to take her to church.
He told me later that he had been inviting her
for years, but she would never join him.
I share this because you can be doing ‘secular’
work, yet do it with a heart of worship. Jesus
said as we abide in Him, we just bear fruit.
It’s not hard to do.
Speaking of worship… if you haven’t heard the
adults yet, do please go listen. There is a
real depth of worship in their songs! –
I guess I want to add one more thing. THANK YOU!
Thank you for every kind email, thought and
prayer. So many of you are like family to me,
and we’ve never even met!
Worship Him with all your heart, because
He loves you with all of His!
In HIM,
Jean Welles
