Jean
accepted Christ as the Lord of her life at age 17. A few
weeks later her guitar teacher left the country and gave
Jean all of her students, 30 students. Jean has always
viewed her career, teaching guitar, as a gift from God.
Her musical background began with folk and pop music expanding
into classical guitar. Jean has a Masters Degree in Guitar
Performance from USC and she participated in dozens of
Master’s classes.
During the 80’s, she began offering Worship Guitar
Classes. Local churches loved the idea. Jean has taught
thousands of students in these classes. Her popular classes
were sponsored through several churches, homes and even
through ministries like World Impact.
In 2001 she produced the first Worship Guitar Class Video.
She combined the years of training and technical expertise
with the years of face-to-face practical teaching experience
to make a product that people can actually learn with.
Her DVD’s & Videos are now used in 30 countries.
One of the ways she encourages new worshippers, and worship
leaders, is through her monthly e-Zine, the Worship Guitar
Class Newsletter. This email newsletter has around 20,000
subscribers and is growing daily.

Can someone with no musical background learn from this
series?
Yes. I have seen people, young & old, that learned
to play the guitar from just watching the Jean Welles
Worship Guitar Class(tm) videos
and I’ve been very impressed with how well they
were playing. I’ve also received many emails from
people delighted with how quickly they were learning.
2. Why is your series easy to learn from?
I am a teacher. Everything is broken down into small steps,
and thoroughly explained. For example, in the booklets,
I use both symbols and words to describe the strumming
patterns. I have found that some people understand easier
with pictures where others prefer words.
3. What age is this suitable for?
I’ve taught younger students, but the pace in this
series is perfect for age 9 and up. By the way, you are
never too old to learn. I’ve taught students in
their 80’s and 90’s.
4. Can the DVD’s/Videos be used to teach
classes?
Absolutely. Many churches are doing just that. There are
classes all across the US and in several foreign countries.

sheet describing how to use the Jean Welles Worship Guitar
Classtm™ series in class settings. There are books
available specifically for the classes.
5. Is there anything else special about the series?
What is special is that they point to and magnify the
most Important Being in this Universe, our Creator. I
encourage people to use their practice times as real worship
times and to ask God to help them learn the guitar. People
